Topic- The Library Company in Philadelphia

The library company was founded in 1731, by Benjamin Franklin. My project was built in Philadelphia, and it was the first lending library.
Benjamin Franklin, and the Junto's. (A group, 12 members, who was established by Benjamin Franklin by different occupations and backgrounds. 1727) Benjamin Franklin, and the Juto's are credited for the innovation The Library Company. They paid 40 shillings(2 pounds), and decided to each pay 10 shillings each year.

what was the literacy rate in the 1700's? that made the library improve it?

The life in the 18 century wasn't like the life today. now Children would be worried about their education and having fun. in the 18 century children were mini lookalikes like adults. men were to become apprentices (?) of blacksmiths. the girls were to become like their mothers. clean, cook, and gather up food for the men when they got home from work.

-FACTS MORE ON THE 18TH CENTURY

The major impact and change in history this innovation, the library company made is the capability of lending books
